Re: Edinburgh City
I woke in the morning in a cold sweat. Those dreams....so frightening... I sighed and stood up

Re: Edinburgh City
I woke up and looked around me. I hated sleeping in wierd places. I lay in bed for a minute before pulling my coat and shoes on, and trying to arrange my hair with little success.

Re: Edinburgh City
I shrugged "everybody gets bad dreams. You probably read it from a book somewhere and it just stuck in your brain" infact I didn't really believe what I was saying. I knew what it was like to have memories instead of dreams at night, and this sounded more like the latter.

Re: Edinburgh City
I nodded "it could be... Your brain often hides things it wants to forget but it can't always hide everything entirely"
Re: Edinburgh City
I felt the scar across my cheek and said nothing. I was thinking about what she'd just said.

I looked at him "it was a fire, you were trying to save someone"

"Was I?" I waited for her to continue. This was too much of a coincidence. Then again, I didn't believe in coincidence.

Re: Edinburgh City
"And then the house fell down" I continued "taking everyone with it. The men, my wife all seven of my children..." I stopped "there was nothing I could do. I came too late." I looked down at the floor as tears fell down my cheeks.

Re: Edinburgh City
I stood up "it's impossible! No one survived!" I shouted. I never usually got this angry. It was the idea that I had given up, that I had failed my own family.

I looked at her. I knew she'd always looked similar. I had just ignored it, but now I hugged her "I am never leaving you again" I promised her and laughed "god that was cliche wasn't it?"

Re: Edinburgh City
"Oh thanks!" I said sarcastically "you're meant to tell me that it wasn't at all cliche!" I laughed again "the point still stands though"

Re: Edinburgh City
I instinctively put one hand up to shield my face from the flying glass, and then used another to guide my daughter away from it.
Re: Edinburgh City
I shielded my face and watched in horror as zombies began to claw into the house
